CLARA, the new Clinical Research Administrator, is a Web portal for IRB submissions and all correspondence associated with the administrative angle of human subjects research. New submissions must be made in CLARA from April 22, 2013 onward.
Principal investigators submitting to the IRB through CLARA should refer to the
IRB Standard
Operating Policies and Procedures for specific guidelines on conduct
of human research studies.
Studies currently in ARIA
- Submissions that are complete and not under review will migrate to CLARA.
- Submissions that are under review, in ARIA and/or CRIMSON, will complete the review process in ARIA and/or CRIMSON.
- Submissions that are incomplete in both ARIA and CRIMSON will not migrate to CLARA.
- Submissions that are incomplete in both ARIA and CRIMSON and have
remained inactive since January 1, 2013 may be closed out in ARIA
and may require a new submission in CLARA.
Access CLARA
- Go to https://clara.uams.edu. Submissions that are complete and not under review will migrate to CLARA.
- Log in using your UAMS ID and password or follow the directions to request a CLARA account.
Studies requiring review
- For a determination from the IRB regarding whether your project meets the criteria for human subjects research, submit a Human Subject Research Determination Request in CLARA.
- Refer to UAMS IRB Policy 1.4 -- Studies Requiring Review -- for further guidance.
