LITTLE ROCK - The University of
Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will sponsor a free heart
health seminar Saturday, Nov. 23, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
The seminar, "Matters of the
Heart," will be in Walton Auditorium in the Arkansas Cancer
Research Center at UAMS in Little Rock. It is part of the UAMS
"Here's to Your Health" Educational Seminar Series for

Dr. J.L. Mehta, a professor in the
UAMS College of Medicine and director of the UAMS Division of
Cardiovascular Medicine, will welcome participants to the seminar
and introduce the speakers. The topics and speakers will be

Vascular/Interventional Radiology
(Legs for Life is a national
screening program for peripheral vascular disease (PVD) - a
disease of the arteries that is most commonly characterized by leg
or hip pain that occurs during walking or exercising, but
disappears after a few minutes of rest. PVD serves as a warning
sign of potential heart attack.)
