A group of women in Polk County,
Ark., sent a gift of almost $3,000 to the Arkansas Cancer Research
Center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS)
last week for breast cancer research.
Sue Bean of Mena came to the center
Nov. 5 to present the contribution to Dr. V. Suzanne Klimberg,
director of the center's Breast Cancer Program.
The group, Women to the Power of
Ten, raised the funds at an Oct. 30 luncheon in Mena. The mission
of the group is to remind a circle of additional women to do
breast self-examinations each month. Dr. Klimberg had recently
given a talk to the group.
