"I have worked at UAMS almost 10 years. I am thankful everyday to be an employee and a patient here. I have truly been given the gift of life with regard to the birth of my daughter (a high risk pregnancy) and a life saving liver transplant for myself and my father. I am proud to say that I work among the best employees. UAMS has given me opportunities of a lifetime. I hope I can live out the saying,'to whom much is given, much is expected," as I hope to give back to UAMS personally, professionally, and financially."

"I've been at UAMS for sixteen years and currently serve as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. My professional experience has been most valuable in many ways; however, the most indelible moment of my tenure with UAMS was March 10, 2000, when I received news of my Multiple Myeloma diagnosis. The earth stopped, but not for long after realizing that I was at the very best place to receive treatment. After six years, I'm still here and still trying to make a difference in the lives of many people. The one thing I know to be true is that UAMS has provided me not only employment but an opportunity to live a quality life as a result of its research, treatment and patient services at the Myeloma Institute. What do families do? They watch out for, and take care of each other. That's what UAMS has done for me, giving back seems natural."

"During my time at UAMS, I have been given the creative license to transition staff to face the challenges of today¹s health care environment.
I am privileged to help staff discover their full potential so that they can meet the prolific responsibility of providing excellent care. It is an axiom that great job satisfaction stems from rewards that are displayed in actions and outcomes, not mere words. Every day I go home thinking, I made a difference, through my staff. We make sure that patients matter, we care because it is the right thing to do not because we have to. I live by those words daily, because it sustains me. That is why I am here, because I want to know that because of my little piece of contribution, it made a difference in someone's life."
