Lectures

The course will routinely meet at 1:00 p.m. each Tuesday for didactic sessions, although an occasional lecture may be held at a different time. Attendance is expected. Fall lectures are held in Room G225, Ed III Building.

The syllabus contains reading assignments and lecture objectives for the topics in this course. We recommend you bring your syllabus to class each week and take notes during the lectures. Outlines for some lectures will be provided, but your primary source of information will be your notes. In addition to the required textbooks, the outlines, session objectives, reading assignments, and your notes will serve as your study guide for written, computer, and practical examinations. You will be responsible for assigned readings, syllabus material, and lecture content on all examinations.

All pagers, beepers, and cell phones must be turned off during lecture. The ICM office will advise you via e-mail when a standardized patient will participate in lectures and discussions. For these events, you are required to wear professional attire, your white coat, and your UAMS identification badge.
