Maintaining Certification

To maintain certification as a Research Specialist, you need to:

• Keep your Human Subject Protection training up-to-date, and
• Complete 6 CRS contact hours between January 1st and December 1st each calendar year.

You may count any CRS course toward your contact hours, including courses that you are re-taking.

You may also count up to 6 hours from conferences or courses offered by other programs, with the approval of the Compliance Education Program Manager.

When a candidate satisfies the continuation requirements, an official notification of certification will be sent via e-mail. The research specialist will then be presented with a formal certificate at the annual CRS Awards Ceremony.
