Academic Interests:
Dr. Sulmasy’s interests are at the intersection of medicine, ethics, and spirituality. He pursues theoretical investigations as well as empirical studies, concentrating on ethical issues in the care of patients at the end of life, the ethics of cost-containment and its effect on the physician-patient relationship, the effectiveness of ethics education, and spirituality in health care, particularly the spirituality of health care professionals.
Clinical Interests:
Dr. Sulmasy is a general internist, and enjoys caring for patients with undiagnosed problems, chronic conditions, and caring for the adult members of families.
