Alice Dreger, PhD (Northwestern), an expert in issues with
intersexuality will be co-hosted by UALR and the Division of Medical
Humanities in November 13-15.
Ellen Wright Clayton, MD, JD (Vanderbilt) will discuss ethics of
newborn screening for the annual ACH Harvey and Bernice Jones
lecture in pediatrics, December 2nd @ 8:00 am in ACH Chairman’s Hall
Paul Ford, PhD, an expert on neuroethics from The Cleveland Clinic,
will be here January 29th and 30th as an Arkansas Medical Society
Distinguished Lecturer and will speak in conjunction with the
Division of \Neurosciences.
Paul Appelbaum, MD, MPH renowned psychiatrist and ethicist from
Columbia will be here as an Arkansas Medical Society Distinguished
Lecturer and will speak in conjunction with UAMS Psychiatry Grand
Rounds @ 4:00 pm Feb. 5th
Rita Charon, MD, PhD (Columbia) will present the George Ackerman
Lecture in the Department of Internal Medicine and be in residence
March 4 & 5
And we will end with a Medical Humanities Night at The Rep—Elephant
Man, sponsored in part by UAMS Medical Humanities, in the spring
