The Psychology of September 11
These
programs explore the psychology of September 11, the date of
terrorist attacks on the United States, will be the topic of
Here's to Your Health on radio broadcasts Oct. 15-19.
Many Americans have experienced psychological trauma following
the attacks. Mental health professionals are dealing with
individual trauma and national or group trauma. Teachers and
parents are struggling to reassure children. Communities all
over the nation are uniting to help those suffering most from
the attacks.
Teresa Kramer, Ph.D., discusses the psychological effects of
these events. Dr. Kramer is
a clinical psychologist, assistant professor in the Department
of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and National Institute
of Mental Health (NIMH) research career awardee.
