Site Development

There is substantial preparations and site development that will be completed to prepare for construction of the new facilities at UAMS. These projects range from facilities that will support the new hospital and buildings to street realignments to other work that will improve the appearance of the campus for employees, patients and visitors.

Project descriptions
In conjunction with the hospital expansion, a portion of Hooper Drive will be shifted to the west. The expansion will be built where the current student dormitory is and extend onto the current location of Hooper Drive and the parking lot to the west of Hooper Drive.

The south portion of Hooper Drive will be realigned and extended to intersect 7th Street where Shuffield Drive currently intersects 7th Street.

The new parking deck will be intended primarily for hospital employees, patients and visitors. It will be constructed near the hospital expansion.

The new West Central Plant will supply utilities and other support systems for the hospital expansion and other new facilities. It will be built on the southwest side of the campus.
