Psychiatric Research Institute
The facility will include an outpatient facility and an inpatient facility. The building will be five stories, approximately 100,000 square feet and incorporate 40 inpatient beds, research, clinical, educational and administrative space. The Dierks Research Laboratories will honor the gift of Fred and Louise Dierks, while the Walker Family Clinic will honor the gift from the Pat and Willard Walker Charitable Foundation.
The institute is expected to open in 2008.

Hospital
The new 540,000-square-foot expansion to UAMS Medical Center, now under construction, will be located south of the current hospital, extending west past the previous location of Hooper Drive. When completed in 2008, the hospital expansion will include new patient rooms, a new emergency department, clinical lab and radiology department along with room to expand other services.

Education West Construction Area
In conjunction with the hospital expansion, a portion of Hooper Drive will be shifted to the west. The expansion will be built where the current student dormitory is and extend onto the current location of Hooper Drive and the parking lot to the west of Hooper Drive.

Video 4 shows the hospital expansion looking west. The sky bridge from the hospital to the Outpatient Center and Arkansas Cancer Research Center can be seen in the distance. The UAMS Cafeteria can be seen at the ground level on the left.
