Career Day for Biomedical Sciences- October 29, 2009
Thanks to
everyone who attended this year's Career Day. Information about Career
Day for Biomedical Sciences 2009 is posted below. We will post the
program for the 10th annual Career Day for Biomedical Sciences in August
2010. The date for the event will be updated as soon as it is
scheduled.
This event is designed to inform graduate and
undergraduate students about the variety of science career options
available. This year’s program included traditional careers in academic
research and teaching, as well as less traditional career opportunities in
industry, government, and scientific publishing. Speakers discussed the
job description, advantages, disadvantages, salaries, and opportunities for
advancement within each career track. A continental breakfast and lunch
was provided, along with time for Q&A and discussion with speakers and
participants.
Undergraduate students and faculty were provided with information on
each UAMS Graduate School program (M.S.
and Ph.D. programs), as well as the opportunity to meet with
representatives and graduate students from each program. Additionally, a short
presentation was given about summer undergraduate research opportunities at
UAMS and the Graduate School.
If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Kristen Sterba at 501-526-7396 or by email at
