The
Department of Neurobiology
and Developmental Sciences welcomes applications from
qualified students. Students must seek admission to the UAMS Graduate
School and indicate that they are applying to the Neurobiology
and Developmental Science Department. Students qualified for Graduate School Admission must also
have the following undergraduate coursework:
Biology, at least two courses in cell biology, zoology or related
disciplines. Previous research experience in a laboratory is strongly
encouraged. Application packets should include the following:
1. Completed Graduate School application form.
2. GRE Scores
3. Transcripts from all colleges and
universities attended.
4. Three letters of recommendation
5. 1-2 page statement describing reasons for
seeking admission to graduate
school,
interests and career goals.
6. TOEFL scores ( required from international
applicants only)
All application materials should be submitted to the Graduate School (address
on form). Once complete, applications are sent to the Department for
consideration by the Graduate Committee.
All eligible students accepted into the Ph.D. program will receive stipend
support and payment of tuition. With the assistance of their research
advisor, students are encouraged to seek extramural fellowship support.
