Funding Needs: UAMS Library

The Library (www.library.uams.edu) supports the education of health professionals, the creation of new knowledge, life long learning, timely access to information, and informed health care decisions.  Besides providing access to current information resources and serving as a repository for the archives of UAMS and materials on the history of the health sciences in Arkansas, the Library is a place where students and faculty can study, work and collaborate with others.

With your gifts, you can help strengthen the Library in several key areas:

  • To serve the rapidly growing number of students, renovation of several areas of the Library is needed to create or improve study areas designed for individuals or small groups of students and faculty.
  • Endowment of the Outreach Librarian position will ensure that the expertise and resources of the UAMS Library are available to health professionals and the public throughout Arkansas.
  • Endowment of the position of Head of the Historical Research Center (HRC) in the Library would ensure that the Center will continue to preserve and provide access to the growing amount of materials and artifacts available related to the history of UAMS and the health sciences in Arkansas.
  • An endowment or contributions to the HRC budget would enable the Library to renovate the Center, to purchase and preserve additional materials and artifacts, or to restore the fragile historical materials currently in the collection.
