In the past 20 years, enrollment in the UAMS College of Health Related Professions (CHRP) has grown from about 240 students in nine professional areas to more than 600 students in 17 professions today – making it the largest student body on the UAMS campus and representing an average growth rate of more than six percent a year.
Despite the College’s impressive growth, our state finds itself in need of even greater assistance to respond both to today’s health care challenges and those of tomorrow. To increase the capacity of CHRP to admit and educate the numbers of allied health professionals the state will need in the future, further expansion is essential.
With your gifts, you can help strengthen and grow the College of Health Related Professions in the following three key areas: support for students, support for faculty, and enhanced facilities.
- Endowed full-tuition scholarships will assure that qualified and deserving students will come to the UAMS College of Health Related Professions to study in a variety of allied health professional areas.
- Endowed faculty chairs and professorships in each of the 17 allied health disciplines represented in CHRP will enable the College to recruit and retain some of the nation’s leading professors.
- State of the art facilities will allow the College to teach using the most current medical equipment so that students can learn on the same types they will actually use for patient care when they graduate.
