“After five years and four unsuccessful attempts to have a child through in-vitro fertilization, my husband and I were about ready to give up. But, we decided to try once more and turned for our treatment to a new physician, Dr. Aida Shanti, director of the UAMS IVF program. Despite the remote odds for a successful pregnancy, Dr. Shanti reviewed our case, made some changes in our treatment plan, and helped me become pregnant on her first try. The pregnancy was high risk, but UAMS’ expert obstetricians provided excellent care, as did the pediatric specialists in the ICU after Tucker was born. My husband and I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Shanti and to all the other wonderful doctors and nurses at UAMS for helping us achieve our dream of becoming parents. And now I’m pregnant again.”
