The Women's Caucus Advising Program

The 2006 - 2008 Advising Program

Our advising program matches senor women (associate and full professors) with self-identified junior women who  want an advising relationship.  We send new women faculty a survey of interest in advising in October.  If they are interested, the mentoring committee matches them with an available advisor, preferably on the same track and on the same campus and who is outside their department.  Both are given clear instructions on how to initiate and define the relationship. This is a one year commitment wherein the advisors and protégés report to the mentoring director on a quarterly basis. To evaluate and improve the program, we ask for an annual review.
