New Faculty Information

Welcome to our New Faculty
All new faculty are invited to a one hour meeting in the Office of Faculty Affairs. The purpose is help you begin your your academic career with a good understanding of how to find resources and give tips on career planning.  Specific discussion topics include planning your academic career, networking, useful resources, and question time.   Call Ms. Wanas at 526.4661 to arrange an appointment.

All new faculty since last September are welcome to attend the New Faculty Welcome, FIRST THINGS FIRST, August 15, 2011 in the College of Public Health Auditorium - 8240 from 1 - 4 pm.  Participants will meet campus resources and College of Medicine leadership.  Please contact Kerstine Wanas at 526.4661 for a copy of materials if you arrive after the COM welcome.  2011 Program

The College of Medicine Professionalism Guideline for faculty was approved December 8, 2008.  This Professionalism Guideline serves to document the expectations we collectively hold for ourselves in our interactions with patients, colleagues, health professionals, students, trainees, staff and the public.

The 2011 (16th) edition of the Absolutely Unofficial Faculty/Housestaff Survival Handbook is now available. This handbook is a practical, fun referential guide to UAMS, Little Rock and Central Arkansas for all new faculty, recruits and housestaff.  Dr. Page Moore, chair of the WFDC Publications committee has written a forward and the list of FIGS Sponsors can be found on the front and back cover.   Call 526.4661 for a copy.
