Dr. Robert McNamara, Chair of Emergency Medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA and President of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) visited UAMS for the Emergency Medicine Research Day and Graduation Banquet. Dr. McNamara addressed residents and faculty on the history and current state of Emergency Medicine.

 

 

Dr. Danny Pritchett discusses his survey on acceptable waiting times for off service consultations. Dr. Pritchett won the prize for Best Presentation.

 

 

Dr. Greg Bledsoe presents on the financial impact of the 1997 Arkansas Motorcycle Helmet Law repeal. Dr. Bledose won the prize for Best Manuscript.

 

 

Dr. Greg Hoskins reviews the effectiveness of a needless injection system to prevent needlestick injury. Dr. Hoskins received honorable mention in the category of Best Manuscript.

 

 

Dr. Lane England completes his presentation on patient acceptance of physician level of training.

 

 

Dr. Chris Davis discusses a training program of videotaped lectures featuring pediatric emergencies for EMTs and paramedics.
