Center for Diversity Affairs to Sponsor LGBT Cultural Competency
Strategies Webinar
The UAMS Center for Diversity Affairs will host a webinar on
cultural competency strategies for the lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender population. The webinar will be from noon to
1:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, in Room 214 A/B of the Wilson
Education Building.
No cost to attend.

Black History
Month Event - February 22, 2011
The
Center for Diversity Affairs will host our annual UAMS Black
History Month event on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, 1130 am to 1 p.m. in the COPH, Pauley Auditorium, G219. This year's
keynote speaker is Dr. Fitz Hill, president of Arkansas
Baptist College, who will speak on the topic of "Black Economic
Development in the 21st Century." Dr. Hill will be
introduced by Chancellor Rahn. The Mabelvale African Drum &
Groove Ensemble, a group of 4th and 5th
graders from Mabelvale Elementary School, will provide special
entertainment. This group is noted for performing sophisticated
and complicated West African & Caribbean rhythms and beats with
precision, creativity and showmanship.
