About Little Rock                                        Arkansas Spirit Video

Stretching along the Arkansas River, Little Rock is truly a wonderful place to live, work, and play. The city continues to be a vibrant and growing community that still retains a small town charm. As the capital of Arkansas, Little Rock remains the state's major area for government, finances and health care. The city boasts a large number of excellent public, private and parochial schools, as well as numerous parks, golf courses, and outdoor activities. An impressive selection of restaurants caters to all tastes in cuisine.

The city has continued to renovate and revitalize its downtown area, and this district has quickly become a popular spot for an evening out, whether that involves dining, shopping, live music, theatre or drinks with friends. In addition, the Museum of Discovery, the Little Rock Zoo and the local IMAX theatre offer excitement and education for both the old and the young at heart. In November 2004, Little Rock celebrated the opening of the Clinton Presidential Library. Visitors from around the world now enjoy this amazing facility and explore our city.

Little Rock sits among the gentle rolling hills of central Arkansas. Summers can be hot at times while winter remains mild for the most part, with an occasional snow fall. Arkansas boasts all her beauty in spring and fall with endless flowers in the spring and vibrant colors in the fall. The weather during these seasons can truly be described as perfect.

Crime is low, and housing remains very affordable. Many residents choose to buy when they move to Little Rock. Several lovely neighborhoods with beautiful older homes are within walking distance of the hospital. Some residents choose to live in newer homes that are slightly farther away from the hospital. Even these neighborhoods are within a 15 minute drive of the hospital.

After the state and federal governments, major employers in the area include numerous financial and legal companies as well as several hospitals. Little Rock is the headquarters for numerous major national and international corporations, including Alltel, Acxiom, Dillard's, Jacuzzi and Stephens Inc. Many other industries and companies are located in or near Little Rock. WalMart and Tyson Foods are headquartered in northwest Arkansas, and both provide economic power to every portion of the state.

Beyond Little Rock, one can truly see why Arkansas is called "The Natural State." From the peaceful flatlands of the Mississippi River Delta to the sublime beauty of the Ozark Mountains, Arkansas is truly an outdoor paradise. Hiking, boating, mountain biking and whitewater adventure are just a few of the sports enjoyed in Arkansas. In addition, Arkansas is home to the best trout fishing and duck hunting in the nation.
