Dr. Bokony is interested in improving the caregiving environment of young children by enhancing the skills of parents and early childhood educators. She currently directs the Brief Parenting Intervention Project; helping to oversee, develop, disseminate, and evaluate an innovative model of parent and teacher education designed to promote positive outcomes for children, including the prevention of social, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Dr. Bokony also helped develop the Arkansas Pre-K Social-Emotional Learning Training, and she serves as a co-investigator on a project that is creating a measure of the parenting environment.
