Previously known as the Centers for Mental Health Care Research, DHSR has been recognized as one of the largest, most comprehensive and most innovative health services research centers in the nation for over a decade. DHSR has received a tremendous amount of support from NIMH and the VA since it was formally organized in 1990. DHSR was home to an NIMH Center from 1990 until 2004, and it is currently the home of two VA-funded research centers (see box) and a Fellowship Training Program in Mental Health Services Research.
