Travel Medicine

Whether you are planning a business trip, a visit with family and friends or an adventurous vacation, overseas travel offers a wealth of enjoyable and exciting opportunities.

The Travel Medicine Clinic in the UAMS Department of Family and Preventive Medicine can help you to have a safe and healthy trip. The clinic offers a comprehensive consultation service designed to help you anticipate and prevent potential health problems that you may encounter on your journey. The clinic can also provide any vaccinations or prescribed medications you may need prior to your departure.

• Assessment of health risks individualized to the traveler’s personal itinerary
• Advice on reducing the risk of contracting an infectious disease from contaminated food, water,   insects or parasites
• Articles and information related to health and travel for the country of destination
• Local United States embassy and consulate address and telephone numbers

The clinic is an official Yellow Fever Vaccination Center. A certificate of vaccination approved by the World Health Organization is provided for all vaccinations received at the clinic.

The Travel Medicine Clinic does not accept insurance for the administration of travel immunizations or consultation for prescriptions.
