Undergraduate Program

The mission of the Predoctoral Education Division of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine of the UAMS College of Medicine is to provide high quality educational opportunities in Family Medicine for undergraduate students in the College of Medicine. This includes the education of students in the principles of Family Medicine with emphasis on preventive medicine, health promotion, and continuing health care delivery. The student educational experience incorporates the philosophy that each patient is a unique individual who has the right to dignity, respect and the pursuit of a healthy, fulfilling life. These educational opportunities are offered to students at the Family Medical Center on campus and the Area Health Education Centers off campus.

The curriculum offered will provide a general foundation to prepare medical students for graduate medical education in Family Medicine as well as other specialty training choices.
