Undergraduate Program

Departmental and AHEC Responsibilities

Site directors will communicate with students and physician preceptors about the clerkship program, and be available when questions or problems arise concerning course content or curriculum.

Site directors will meet with students periodically to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the clerkship experience to date.

Provide orientation and faculty development sessions for students and physician instructors respectively.

Evaluate all aspects of the clerkship and provide a final grade that summarizes student clinical performance and subject examination. Evaluate all aspects including the curriculum, course, and faculty/residents teaching skills.

Timely return of written evaluations to the Dean’s office and return of clinical performance and project results monthly. Final grades are issued at the end of the clerkship.
