Aytekin Ozdemir, M.D.

Aytekin Ozdemir, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Surgery with the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Medical Center.

Fellowship-trained in cardiothoracic surgery at UAMS, Dr. Ozdemir also served a residency in that field. He completed additional fellowships in cardiovascular surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas; and in cardiothoracic surgery at St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, England. He completed his General Surgery Residency at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, and attended medical school at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey, where he received his medical degree.

A Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Ozdemir is board certified as a specialist in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery by the Turkish Ministry of Health and Social Assistance.

Dr. Ozdemir is a member of the American Medical Association, the Arkansas Medical Society; the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and the Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society.

His specialties and interests include Adult Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Aneurysm, Lung Cancers, Esophageal Cancers, and Pacemaker Defibrillator Surgery.
