How to pull out leg extension

The leg extension is used whenever the patient needs to lie flat on his or her back with legs extended outward. Examples include an abdominal exam. It is best to pull out the extension as you help the patient lie down on the table. If done in this way there is minimal strain on the patient's lower back during the exam.

Extend the leg extension by grasping the bottom of the extension under the table and pulling.
