How to raise and lower a stool

 

It is important to give the impression that you know what you are doing. You need to be able to adjust the stool without bumbling. Having trouble with such things as adjusting the stool will lead to increased frustration and nervous behavior during the following history and physical.

 

 

Note the handle under the stool seat. You will use this handle to raise and lower the stool.

To raise the stool:

Grasp the handle, you may be either seated or standing.

 

 

Squeeze the handle and let the seat raise. Release the handle when the stool is the proper height.

To lower the stool:

You must be seated to lower the stool.

Grasp the handle and squeeze.

 

Release the handle when the stool is the proper height.

Remember!

Do not try to lower the stool unless you are sitting on it. The stool will not lower unless there is weight on it.
