FAY W. BOOZMAN COLLEGES OF PUBLIC HEALTH (COPH)
The UAMS COPH is seeking a Chair for the Department of Health Policy and
Management. Individuals with demonstrated research expertise and strong record
of publications, and who have made significant contributions to the policy and
management field are encouraged to apply. A generous start-up package for the position will include resources to
hire additional faculty. The department includes a diverse faculty, educational
programs that lead to a Ph.D. in health services research, a doctoral and
master's program in public health, and a master's program in health services
administration.
As part of the state's only academic health sciences center, the CEPH accredited College
enjoys close relationships with the UAMS Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy,
Nursing, and Health Related Professions as well as the state's health department
and human service agencies. Opportunities at UAMS for collaboration also exist
with UAMS' centers of excellence: the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, the Donald W. Reynolds Institute on
Aging with its network of seven satellite Centers on Aging across the state, the
Stephens Spine Institute, the Psychiatric Research Institute, the Myeloma
Institute for Research and Therapy, and a NIH-funded Clinical and Translational
Research Center. UAMS also has a statewide presence through its eight Area Health Education Centers (AHECs),
offering ready access to populations across the state. In addition,
collaborative opportunities exist with the Arkansas Center for Health
Improvement - a nonpartisan, independent, health policy center that serves as a
catalyst for improving the health of Arkansans.This center hosts the
Arkansas Health Data Initiative and serves as the home of the Surgeon General
