Occupational Hearing Conservation
Author: Thomas W.
Rimmer, ScD, CIH Copyright information
This module offers a brief overview of the elements of a hearing
conservation program conducted according to the requirements of OSHA
(Occupational Safety and Health Administration). It would be suitable for use
in a training course in occupational health, safety or nursing and also
possibly in a graduate or undergraduate course in environmental science,
occupational health, industrial or environmental engineering, or audiology. The
presentations are highly compressed and therefore suitable for use with an
Internet-based course management system such as Blackboard or WebCT and may be
used with either a high-speed or dial-up connection.
After you finish the lectures you may want to take a
15-question, multiple choice quiz.
Lectures:
1. Noise Exposure Monitoring
(17 min.)
2. Hearing Protection (24 min.)
3. Audiometric Testing (23
min.)
4. Worker Training and
Program Audits (15 min.)
