First UAMS Student Team Attends
National Health Administration Case Competition

February 18-19, 2009

We are pleased to announce that the UAMS team was selected as one of the top five teams from among the 25 teams from accredited graduate programs in health services administration in the national Health Administration Case Competition held in Birmingham, Alabama February 18 and 19, 2009.

Amanda George, Megan Tomlinson and Woody Rigdon did a fantastic job presenting their plan to address the management issues in the case. They had the opportunity to do a second round presentation to the 10 judges, faculty, health administrator and the other 20 teams that did not get selected. I am a bit biased, but I really thought they had the best overall plan and presentation. We can all be proud of how well they represented the University and the Program. I know it was also a great learning experience for the team members.

The competition next year will be on February 10-11, 2010. We hope to send another 3 person team to represent the Program.
