CAHME, the accrediting body for healthcare management education programs, requires that our program graduates will demonstrate competence in twenty-one practice relevant domains. After the review of several competency models and extensive review of course material, the MHSA faculty developed a list of 71 program specific competencies which students are to attain by the time of graduation.
The competencies are listed by CAHME domain in the following list.
Create a health status profile of a population in a market area using available data sources
Create a profile of health disparities for a population in a market service area
Analyze interactions between the subsystems of a health system using a systems framework
Use epidemiological principles to assess the disease burden in a population
Describe the impact of health knowledge, risk behaviors and lifestyle on health status
