I am happy to
post two upcoming opportunities related to the
Reproductive Health 2008 conference. Abstracts are now being
accepted
for scientific oral and/or poster presentations. We welcome a
diverse
array of abstract submissions that reflect our broad definition
of
reproductive health including issues related to pregnancy,
infertility,
abortion, contraception, healthy sexuality throughout the
lifespan,
sexual education, and environmental impacts on reproductive
systems. All
oral and poster abstracts accepted for presentation will be
published in
the August 2008 issue of the "Contraception, An International
Reproductive Health Journal."
ARHP is also accepting applications for the Gary Stewart
Scholarship for
Research in Public Health. The Stewart Scholarship supports
educational
research projects of graduate students in public health and
includes an
award of $2,500, a one-year membership to ARHP, and paid
registration
and travel to Reproductive Health 2008.
The deadline for both abstract submissions and Stewart
scholarship
applications is Friday, March 21, 2008 @ 11:59 pm EDT.
Reproductive Health 2008 will be held September 17-20, 2008 in
Washington, DC. This is the annual meeting of the Association of
Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), Planned Parenthood
Federation
of America (PPFA), and Society of Family Planning (SFP).
Information on abstracts, the Stewart scholarship, and
Reproductive
Health 2008 is available at www.ReproductiveHea
free to contact my colleague Shama Alam at (202) 466-3825 or
salam@arhp.org with any questions.
