About the Summit: The Health Education Advocacy Summit is three day advocacy skill-building experience, which will be held March 15-17, 2008. The Summit features basic, intermediate and advanced-level advocacy training, message crafting of legislative priorities by experienced professionals from the government relations staffs of key public health organizations, and hill visits with members of Congress or key congressional staff.
Summit Lodging: A block of sleeping rooms has been reserved for conference participants at the Embassy Suites Hotel at 900 10th Street NW, Washington, DC, 20001. The reservation cut-off is February 20, 2008! To make reservations, call the hotel at (202) 739-2001, or (800) EMBASSY. Please identify yourself with the 11th Annual Health Education Advocacy Summit to obtain the group rate of $179.00 single/double, plus tax.

Summit Scholarship: Student support to attend the summit can include up to $500 reimbursement for any combination of registration fee for the event and any real and reasonable travel expenses incurred.
Scholarship Eligibility: Students eligible for scholarship support must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time, and in good academic standing in a health education or related major. Students must also be SOPHE members in good standing at the time of application and be nominated by a faculty member in the student’s program, who is also a member of National SOPHE. Application Deadline: Applications may be faxed to (202) 408.9815, e-mailed to tmaslak@sophe.org, or mailed to the address below, ATTN: SOPHE Student Scholarship. All applications must be received by February 1, 2008 to be considered. Awardees will be notified by February 15, 2008.
