The Little Rock Chapter of Executive Women International (EWI) is pleased to announce the 2008 Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST) program.  ASIST is a flexible, need-based scholarship program that addresses the needs of adults who are struggling to improve their status in life through education.  EWI believes the ASIST program will help recipients develop self-esteem and positively impact their personal life, employment, family and community.

The Little Rock Chapter of EWI will award four $1,000 scholarships in July.  One of the Little Rock Chapter winners will be entered in EWI’s international level competition for additional scholarship money.  Funds are paid directly to the educational providers.

Selection criteria include financial need, physically and/or economically disadvantaged adults, displaced homemakers, and heads of household with children and at-risk adults.

The Little Rock Chapter of EWI, established in 1965, is one of over 80 chapters in the United States, Canada and Europe.  EWI, based in Salt Lake City, Utah was founded in 1938 and is one of the world’s premier women’s organizations dedicated to scholarship, philanthropy, community development, personal growth and professional achievement.
