Research Interests

    My research interests are currently focused on in estimating:

  • The potential for herbal dietary supplements to modulate CYP450 enzyme systems and thus interact with conventional medications;
  • The effects of aging and inflammation on p-glycoprotein mediated drug transport across the blood-brain barrier;
  • Kupffer cell activation and its role in modulating hepatic CYP450 activity; and
  • Investigation of the pharmacology and toxicity of ephedra-containing dietary supplements.
