Dean's Message

I extend my warmest welcome as you peruse the web pages of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy.  The UAMS College of Pharmacy has over 50 years of rich history in preparing its graduates for a life-long journey of learning and professional development.

If you are considering a career in pharmacy, our website is designed to introduce you to our curriculum, our faculty, and to events happening within our College.  Pharmacy remains one of the most respected professions.  Students who are interested in pharmacy today are enrolling because they feel that they can make a difference in their communities.  Pharmacists play a vital role in the health of their communities in a variety of settings including hospitals, long-term care facilities, nuclear pharmacies, community pharmacies, and within the pharmaceutical industry.

The mission of the UAMS College of Pharmacy is to provide excellent education in a stimulating environment where delivery of superb pharmaceutical care is integrated with nationally and internationally recognized research.  In order to achieve our mission we apply innovative and proven educational methods to produce pharmacists who possess the skills and knowledge they need to serve their patients in an ethical and professional manner.  Our mission is also served through faculty who conduct competitive basic, clinical, and social and administrative sciences research that translates into improved patient care and public policy.

It is an exciting time to embark upon the study of pharmacy.  We appreciate your interest in our educational programs and we look forward to addressing any questions you have concerning pharmacy education at the UAMS College of Pharmacy.  If you are interested in scheduling a visit to our campus, or if you would like more information, please contact my office at (501) 686-5558.
