Bells Named Parents Club Chairs
Ginny and Jack Bell of Conway have been named chairs of the newly formed College of Pharmacy Parents Club. The purpose of the Club is to inform and involve parents and family members about activities and events at the college, so they will be better able to help support their students during their college careers.

The Bells are parents of second year student Lauren Bell. He is a retired school psychological specialist and is the assistant to the Mayor for the City of Conway, and she is a registered nurse for Conway Regional Medical Center.

“We are extremely pleased that the Bells have agreed to serve in this important role. They provide leadership and advice during this crucial second year of the organization,” said Dean Stephanie Gardner.

“We are happy to support the College and its students in this way,” said Ginny Bell.  “We are looking forward to finding new ways parents can be involved in the College. We want to support our daughter and know other parents want to be more involved also.”

Through the Parents Club family members have opportunities for participation in the life of the college. Members receive PHARMACY, the magazine for alumni and friends, as well as updates and invitations from the college. In addition, site for parents has been included on the College’s website at http://www.uams.edu/cop/alumdev/parents/ .

Membership funds provide snacks and meals to students during exams. The Club will co-sponsor an Open House on November 22, with Kappa Epsilon, a national professional fraternity promoting women in pharmacy.
