Cookbook News and Events
The UAMS cookbook, “Culinary Prescriptions: From Textbook to Cookbook,” will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. outside Pauly Auditorium in the Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health.

All employees are invited to sample cookbook recipes, meet featured chefs and purchase a cookbook.

The following local chefs whose recipes are in the cookbook will be at the kickoff:

  • James Hale with Acadia Restaurant
  • Peter Brave with Brave New Restaurant
  • Mark Abernathy with Loca Luna and Bene Vita
  • Scott McGehee with Boulevard Bread

UAMS cooks Kevin Sikes and Tara Crawford will bring the following dishes prepared from the cookbook's recipes:

  • Sour Cream Pound Cake
  • Chocolate Dip
  • Pumpkin Bars
  • Strawberry Cake
  • Black Bean Salsa and Pita Chips
  • Broccoli Raisin Salad

The 176-page hardcover cookbook sells for $25 and all proceeds benefit scholarships, research and clinics through the UAMS Campaign Imagine. The kickoff event will follow the State of the Campus address by Chancellor I. Dodd Wilson, M.D.

The cookbook was created over the last two years and includes 200 recipes from UAMS employees, Arkansas chefs and political leaders.

“This cookbook is the culmination of two years of hard work by many people here at UAMS,” said Tricia C. Satkowski, Ed.D., M.B.A., associate dean for administration in the College of Nursing and chair of the cookbook committee. “The recipes are fabulous, and we expect that this will become a popular addition to anyone’s kitchen.”
