Image of tool chestWelcome to the Investigator’s Research Toolbox. This page offers “one-stop shopping” to all COM faculty members involved in various research pursuits. The COM Research Office is committed to furthering faculty research. Whether you’re a first-timer or a veteran investigator, the Investigator’s Research Toolbox provides useful tools/links at your fingertips to save you time and augment your research success.

  • Arkansas Research Communities (ARC) - statewide website for research funding, news, and collaboration

  • ARIA/CRIMSON – electronically submit and track all clinical research projects administered by the Office for Research and Sponsored Programs

  • Bioinformatics – provides tools for the analysis of genomic and molecular biological data

  • Biostatistics - provides expert statistical guidance to clinical, health services, and biomedical scientists

  • BioVentures - links UAMS research minds to global markets in order to advance Arkansas' scientific and economic development

  • CaBig – national network connecting cancer research data and scientists
    Clinical / Translational Research – links research across disciplines and augments collaboration

  • Compliance - provides compliance consultations for the entire research community

  • Core Research Facilities - offers descriptions, capabilities, and contact information for various UAMS research equipment and facilities.

  • DLAM – provides ordering, husbandry, and research method assistance regarding animals

  • Equipment Surplus - provides free computer parts, chairs, tables, cabinets, and more to UAMS research personnel

  • Grants and Cost Accounting - assists PI's and administrators with post-award management of grants and contracts.

  • IACUC - reviews and approves all research protocols that involve animal models.

  • IRB - approves, disapproves, or require modifications of research activities, as well  as working in conjunction with other university or institutional committees.

  • IRIS (Illinois Research Information System) - database of all types of funding opportunities (e.g. federal, corporate, foundation, state) [Note: IRIS Alert link sends emails when your specified funding interests are posted on IRIS.]

  • NIH Public Access Policy - mandatory submission to PubMed, following journal  article publication acceptance; inclusion of PubMed ID# when referencing these articles in NIH grant submissions

  • ORSP - facilitates pre-award grants, contracts, subcontracts and industry-sponsored agreements process

  • OGSP - provides editorial, grant, and manuscript preparation services

  • Patents & Copyrights – provides review process for disclosures of patent and copyright intellectual property developed by members of the UAMS community

  • Research Pharmacy - offers support during drug trials and the IRB review process

  • ResNet - provides research IT services and data storage/backup.

  • Research Start Up Guide- a compilation of processes and rqmts. often encountered when preparing to conduct formal research activities at UAMS.
  • Research Support Center - provides essential support to enable the development of well-designed, ethical studies that balance regulation with innovation

  • Research Systems Group - builds custom enterprise and departmental web, database, and imaging applications and solutions with focus on the research community. Our IT team provides computational support, tools development, and training to biological and clinical researchers.

  • Translational Research Institute - clinical research functions, access to research tools, collaboration, educational programs, and to request assistance with research projects
