Clinical/Translational
Research
UAMS has devoted nearly two years developing a plan
to augment current cross-cutting programs and
develop new ways to interconnect basic science,
clinical and translational research. As part of this
effort, nearly every college and department
contributed to the UAMS NIH CTSA application
submitted by PI, Curtis Lowery, M.D.,
Assistant Dean for Clinical Research and Professor
and Chair, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He
is the Executive Director of The Center for Distance
Health and the Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine
and the Antenatal and Neonatal Guidelines, Education
and Learning System (ANGELS) programs.
Dr. Lowery had been a key
component along with Dr. Aubrey Hough in furthering
translational research and sharing research findings
with other AR academic institutions, as well as
community and health service organizations.

The
Center for Clinical
and Translational Research
at UAMS bridges the gap between
basic research and clinical research.
