COM Research Office

The UAMS College of Medicine Research Office was established to support clinical and basic science research, provide leadership in expanding the College’s research and creative activities, align the COM research agenda with federal agencies and foundations, foster interdisciplinary research programs and collaborations, work with the UAMS Development office to further COM research and augment funding. College of Medicine units include: BioVentures, RESNET Services, Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine, Research Council, and the MD/PhD Program.

Larry Cornett, Ph.D., Executive Associate Dean of Research, heads up the COM Research Office and works to broaden research outreach and funding horizons while representing faculty members at the highest levels.

Aubrey Hough, M.D., Associate Dean for Translational Research and Special Programs, focuses his energies on initiating major research programs in a variety of areas including clinical and translational research.

Philip Kern, M.D., Assistant Dean for Clinical Research, is involved in furthering clinical research and communicating research findings with community and health service organizations.
