Institutional Scholarships
APPLICATION DEADLINE: MARCH 31
You may apply for an institutional
scholarship even if you do not apply for a loan. We provide one single
application to cover all scholarships offered through the UAMS College
of Medicine. Our Scholarship Application will be used by the Student Financial Aid
Advisory committee to award institutional scholarships. Complete
the application in as much detail as you possible, especially the
sections allowing you to list your community service and volunteerism.
Do not attach additional pages or resumes. These will not be forwarded
to the committee for review. The Student Financial Aid Advisory
Committee will meet routinely during the winter and spring. Most
scholarships for entering freshmen students will be awarded by mid-May
for the following academic year,
and the scholarships for upperclassmen will be awarded after final
grades for the current year become available. If you are selected to receive a scholarship,
you will be notified by letter.
You must also complete the student and parental
sections of the FAFSA in order to be considered for need-based
scholarships. Not all scholarships are based on need, though; some are based on academic achievement, some on
volunteer experience, some are even based on your home county. A complete
listing and description of
our institutional scholarships can be found in the Student Financial Aid
section of the
College of
Medicine Catalog. The deadline for the RECEIPT of your Scholarship Application
in the Financial Aid Office is MARCH 31.
