How to Apply for Financial Aid
Student Financial Aid is
available to College of Medicine students in the form of scholarships
and loans. The maximum amount of financial aid you may receive each
academic year, regardless of the source, will equal your
COST OF ATTENDANCE.
All students enrolled in the UAMS College of Medicine are
eligible to apply for financial aid. Many, but not all, forms of aid are based
on financial need. To receive financial aid, you must be enrolled in good
standing, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and be making satisfactory
progress toward the completion of your degree. (Our policy for satisfactory
academic progress is discussed in detail in the College of Medicine Catalog and
the College of Medicine Student Handbook.) You may not be in default on any
student loan previously received for college expenses, or owe repayment on a
federal scholarship or grant from a previous enrollment period or from a
previous school. In addition, to maintain eligibility to receive federal
loans, you must be registered with Selective Service if you are a male between
the ages of 18 and 25; you must not have federal benefits suspended or
terminated as a result of a drug conviction; and you must meet any
program-specific eligibility requirements.
