Everyone at UAMS is eager to please. Every time I visit, I get lost. All I have to do is ask one of your team and they either escort me to the right place or find someone who can take me there. The people you have working there are very efficient and knowledgeable within their disciplines and have a great overall knowledge of related disciplines. What really is impressive is that people who work there seem to enjoy their jobs. Overall, the visit was most enjoyable, educational and pleasant.
Our oldest son was hospitalized at UAMS in trauma ICU for 61 days. The care that our family received was unbelievable. The care that our son was given made a difference in his life. So many times, we came close to losing him. The nurses, such as Lynn Landis and Pam Sherman along with many others, always gave their all, and never gave up! The medical care that our son received from resident Dr. Daniel Copeland, Dr. Joseph Jensen and Dr. Muhammad Jaffar was the best. Today, our son is married, and he and his wife are expecting their first child. We credit UAMS and the care we received.
There is no better place to go for cancer treatment than UAMS. You may have to wait, but they really care and work hard to see that your needs are met. Janet and Libby do an outstanding job of keeping things on track. Thanks UAMS for all that you have done to see me into remission from lymphoma. It only took three months to go into remission, but the follow up treatments are what give me the comfort of knowing that I am getting the best care possible. I have already encouraged several from other states to come to UAMS. I hope that they will seek their treatments here.
Rarely, if ever, have I been disappointed following an appointment at the Reynolds Institute on Aging. I have a great deal of confidence in Dr. Burcu Ozdemir. I consider her to be the personal manager of my medical care, and when I need to see a specialist, she and her staff make the arrangements. I consider Dr. Ozdemir to be very knowledgeable, and I am confident that I am receiving excellent medical care from her and her friendly and accommodating staff.
Dr. James Rose is one of THE BEST doctors I have ever seen, and I have been all over, including Mayo Clinic. He treated me as if I was his only patient while he was spending time with me and answered all of my questions. Not once did he make me feel he was in a hurry to get to the next patient. I completely trust his opinion and appreciate how I was treated. I would recommend him to everyone I know who would need his expertise. His staff was also very friendly and helpful. Congratulations on a fine staff!
Every time I discuss my cancer and treatment with anyone, I always tell them what a wonderful experience I have had with UAMS. Everyone has been so caring, even from the moment that I get out of the car and am greeted at the front door. I don't think I could have received better care anywhere in the world. I am so thankful that a very good friend of mine recommended UAMS to me. I had always told my family that I wanted to go to UAMS if I ever needed a hospital for a serious condition. I feel that you have the best trained doctors, the latest equipment, and great facilities and to me it was an easy decision. My friend just helped me confirm it. Dr. Yuen is so kind and always smiling. I am so confident in him as my doctor and that is such a comfort to me. His staff is great and I appreciate them all so much. As you can tell, I cannot say enough about how everyone has made my experience the best that it could be. Thanks!!
Dr. John VanderSchilden and his staff are professional and personable as well as efficient. I would definitely recommend their services. As an established patient I am able to schedule appointments on a timely basis. Kudos to Dr. VanderSchilden for his professional opinion and bedside manner!
My husband has been a patient at UAMS since August 2008. We have never been treated so nicely and taken care of so well by anyone else anywhere. Dr. Issam Makhoul and his nurse, Michelle, explain everything to us at every visit. When we have a problem in Fort Smith, we can always reach them in Little Rock by phone in just a very short while. Everything seems so organized there, especially getting tests results. Thanks for all you are doing.
I am totally impressed with your facilities, clinical staff, and particularly with Dr. Matthew Deneke and his reception staff. Dr. Deneke spent much more time with me than I expected, or have been used to over the course of the past 38 years in the military. He seemed genuinely concerned about addressing each of my medical concerns and questions, and went into in-depth query to better understand my physical and mental state. Additionally, members of the staff were very friendly by greeting remarks in the hallway and stopping to ask if I needed directions. I have nothing but a positive impression from my first visit to UAMS Outpatient Clinic.
I cannot say enough good things about the facility and staff. UAMS treated me with respect and dignity. Most impressive was how my family was treated. I was an inpatient through Christmas and New Years. I was even admitted during the move and I have to say it was as pleasant as a stay in the hospital could be. My kids came to visit and most of my family. We exchanged gifts right in my room and had our little Christmas time. I felt that we became friends with the staff. My surgeon (who is extremely busy) even took time to acknowledge my kids. My oldest son especially thanked Dr. Jonathan Laryea for curing my condition. As I anxiously await my final surgery a few days from now I have no anxiety or fear as I have complete confidence in everyone at UAMS. Thank you from me and my family from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to put such a focus on the patient’s feelings and needs.
Dr. Daniel Davis is incredible. I am so grateful he was able to remove all the cancer the first time, leaving the rest of the afternoon to "put me back together." The reconstructive surgery to my face was very extensive, taking about an hour and a half. Not that he took the procedure lightly, but Dr. Davis' sense of humor and funny "quips" lifted mine and my wife's moods. He turned an unbearable situation into more of a lighthearted one. He was always matter of fact and professional, yet his compassion shone through. He absolutely "oozed” knowledge, wisdom, and experience. We thank Dr. Davis from the bottom of our hearts, for a job well done--both surgery wise and emotionally.
I have been a patient of Dr. Donald Bodenner for roughly 5 years now. I can tell you that he and his staff are as professional as any I have had the pleasure of dealing with. He is always prompt with his time and takes the time to answer any questions I may have concerning my treatment. He and his staff would be a great model for UAMS to attempt to duplicate.
I am a new patient with UAMS. My first appointment began on Tuesday, March 24, and ended on Friday, March 27. My appointment on Monday March 30 with Dr. Frits Van Rhee was to discuss my results from the past week of testing. When I arrived in the Triage area, 5th floor, it appeared busy. My appointment was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. with the doctor. The attending staff took me back on time to check temperature, blood pressure, weight and obtain additional information. They were courteous, helpful and encouraging. When I met with Dr. Van Rhee, even though late, he was very detailed and spent much time with me going over all of the testing results. Throughout my one-on-one, I never felt rushed. Dr. Van Rhee listened intently to my questions and responded. Spending quality time to go over my results, address questions and show great interest in helping me with my diagnosis is more important than being prompt for an appointment. Not at UAMS, but at other medical institutions, I met doctors who are on time, but do not deliver quality medical services or show any interest in listening to the patient. I grade your doctors and medical staff a 105%--the 5% bonus is to your medical personnel that called me at home to make sure my drive went well.
This was my first visit to UAMS and I was very impressed with the ease of locating my destination and parking. The receptionists on both floors of the Jones Eye Institute were quick to acknowledge me and process my file. Dr. Christopher Westfall's staff was friendly, helpful and pleasant to work with. Needless to say, Dr. Westfall is everything you want your doctor to be. Both my husband and I were at ease instantly, feeling we were in very capable hands. He explained my health issue clearly and answered all questions to our satisfaction. It was our pleasure to meet him. I feel confident that any futures visits to UAMS will be much the same, no matter which department might be involved.
The patient care that Dr. Robert Hopkins provided was beyond what any physician has ever given me. He personally called me with the results of my blood work within a 24 hour period. I appreciate this man's dedication.
All of the staff I dealt with were VERY friendly - not hurried or rushed. They made me feel that I was important to them. I was very impressed with Dr. Rabii Madi. He immediately put my wife and me at ease. His explanations were thorough and easy to understand, thus giving me confidence to make an educated decision about which procedure was best for me.
I actually work for a major hospital in Garland County that prides itself on offering exceptional customer service. They had better take some notes from your staff because they are exceeding my experiences in my own employer’s facility by far. Thank you for a great customer experience.
