The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine Center for Diversity Affairs is pleased to announce an MCAT Preparation Program for undergraduate students. This intensive 2½ week program, designed for students interested in medical careers will provide instruction and skills necessary for optimal performance on the exam.
The MCAT Prep Program is designed to enhance the performance of disadvantaged students on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) and consequently help facilitate their entry into medical school. The course will consist of a review of general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, physics, verbal reasoning and essay writing through small group interactive discussion.
Since the new MCAT is now on computer, we will use the UAMS computer labs for the classes. The Exam Krackers MCAT Complete Study Package will be used in the Program. Each student will be required to attend all lectures, take all quizzes and pre- and post- exams, and actively participate in discussion and problem-solving sessions. The course will run for 2 ½ weeks in May, with 8-hour meetings Monday through Friday.
Program Dates: May 18, 2009 – June 3, 2009
