Mission Statement
The mission of the
University Hospital of Arkansas is to provide
patient-centered, cost-effective care through a health
care system enriched by and committed to education and
research.
Core Values
Achievement of this
mission relies on a steady commitment to three fundamental
values:
- Achieving total
satisfaction among the various 'customers' of
University Hospital's patient care network, the most
important of whom are the patients and their
families. Others include the entire Hospital staff.
- Continually improving
services.
- Valuing the contribution
and needs of all individuals in order to create a
workplace that inspires constant innovation,
excellence and teamwork.
Goals
The goals of the
Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services are
expressed through the following commitments by the
faculty, management, technical, and administrative staff:
- A commitment for the
Clinical Laboratories to be a vital and integral
component of the University Hospital of Arkansas to
provide a patient care environment of excellence; to
provide service to the community; and to serve as
the primary setting for clinical education and
research programs of the University of Arkansas for
Medical Sciences School of Medicine, Health Related
Professions, Nursing, Pharmacy, and other allied
health care educational efforts.
- A commitment to making a
major contribution to excellence in patient care in
this institution and throughout the State by
providing accurate and precise analysis using modern
methods and concepts with efficient sampling
techniques and modern data handling procedures.
- A commitment to making the
Clinical Laboratories and Educational Resources for
the entire institution, including training of
clinical and laboratory personnel in the various
aspects of Clinical pathology and Laboratory
medicine.
- A commitment to the
application of modern techniques of management in
our delivery of medical laboratory services in order
that the patient and the public receive the maximum
benefit from their expenditure of health funds.
- A commitment to performing
all of these activities in an atmosphere of personal
concern for each patient served, of mutual respect
for our co-workers and of enthusiasm for learning,
teaching, and scholarly investigation.
