The Program

The Surgical Technology program in the Department of Respiratory and Surgical Technologies, housed at the North Little Rock Division of the Central Arkansas Veteran's Healthcare System, offers an Associate of Science degree.  As a surgical technology major you will learn the instrumentation and language of the operating room.  You will be able to perform in the sterile environment and work closely with the surgeons and other members of the surgical team.

Surgical Technologists receive their education in two parts:  the preprofessional component which consists of 34 SC of specified coursework and the professional component which consists of 31 SC of professional coursework offered over ten consecutive months (full-time) or two years (part-time).
