Prerequisites for the online bachelor's degree in sonography
completion option are:

of 52 semester credits of specific liberal arts and science
courses; see:

semester credits of electives; 13 semester credits of which
must be upper level (3000 or 4000) electives. The upper level
electives may be completed concurrently at UAMS or transferred
from any 4-year regionally accredited college or university.

These prerequisite hours, from a
regionally accredited institution of higher education, plus 32 or
more semester credit hours of UAMS Diagnostic Medical Sonography
online studies, must equal or exceed the 124 semester credits
required for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Medical
Sonography. Of the 124 credits, a minimum of 45 must be upper
level (3000 and 4000) courses.

The ARDMS certification is a
mandatory prerequisite since this degree program does not require
additional clinical education. This may allow sonographers to
continue to work in their current jobs while completing their
degree.
